Developing Your Own Voice

Are you afraid to write about your true feelings?  Do you ever think that your ideas are not worth writing about?  Or do you ever think no one wants to hear from you?

If you answered yes to one of these questions, you would be a good candidate to read the book titled, "If you want to write: a book about art, independence and spirit" by Brenda Ueland.

One of the major point that Brenda makes in her book is that everyone can be creative and write if we are willing to break through fear, doubt, and confusion.  In other words, people have to be committed to feeling like their writing voice matters.

According to Brenda, " I tell all this for just this reason:  because I want to show you that millions of human beings, with education and without it, think and feel things that are worth saying and then can write them just beautifully, like great men and women and true poets"  (p.81)

So what are you waiting for?  Now is the time to share your ideas with others.  This is your season to share your ideas with others and to feel like your ideas matter.  Your writing can clearly make the difference in people's lives.  I strongly hope you share it with others.
